For our local festival of restaurants, Winterlicious, we were able to get prized reservations to Oliver & Bonacini’s Canoe, on the 54th floor of one of the prominent skyscrapers in downtown Toronto.
This restaurant specializes in contemporary Canadian cuisine and the interiors are reflective of this country while the main “wall” of the restaurant serves up delicious views of the city, the island and Lake Ontario.
We started out with drinks. Mine was a red wine Winter Sangria with pomegranate liqueur, triple sec, tangerine, cranberry, pear, and pomegranate juices, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon.
Winter Sangria (large glass).
My plate was the Ontario Duo of Beef with green beans and creamy Alliston spuds with bone marrow au jus. One of the duo was a slice of tenderloin on top of delicious shredded beef. So good.

For dessert, a Spiced Chocolate Panna Cotta with marshmallow, graham cracker crumb and white chocolate ice cream. I wish I could have this any time.
